Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing is the leader of Design Workshop's marketing efforts and activities. Working closely with principals and marketing team, this position is responsible for the strategic marketing plan, marketing tools and materials, marketing team training and workflow, responding to RFPs and RFQs, public relations efforts, social media campaigns and the education and training of general staff and key personnel involved with marketing. This position is also involved in leads development, client/prospect relationship development, interview preparation and coaching, promotion and advertising, and the development of a marketing budget. The Director of Marketing serves on the Executive Leadership Team and works with the President to develop, implement and manage successful and strategic business development, marketing and public relations initiatives. This person is directly responsible for the marketing team members and oversees the efforts of the marketing representatives in each office.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess experience in directing the marketing efforts of a firm in the landscape architecture industry. Ideal candidates should also possess marketing, leadership and management skills, and the ability and strong desire to achieve goals and results. The role calls for a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field in addition to a minimum of 5 -10 years previous experience as a Marketing Director.  Preferred candidates wlll have active membership in SMPS, previous experience in the architecture, engineering, construction and planning industry and an understanding of urban design, landscape architecture and land planning along with proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Compensation

Our salary range for this role is 100,000 - $150,000 and a final offer to join the firm is based on understanding and valuing your demonstrated professional skills and experience. We are 100% employee owned; employees become participant-owners in our ESOP Trust. This is designed as a long-term wealth-building benefit, with the employees’ accounts increasing as the value of the business increases. Accounts are funded entirely by company contributions. Similarly, we expect that as you contribute to growing the firm that you will continue to grow your compensation by qualifying for annual pay-for-performance merit increases, discretionary bonus payouts based on the firm's profitability and professional advancement awards.
