Design Workshop is seeking energetic and motivated recent graduates or students to join our full-time, in-person DIGILAB Fall Internship Program for 2025. This internship, hosted exclusively in our Denver studio, offers participants the opportunity to engage in a dynamic and creative design environment focused on digital innovation.

 

About DiGiLAB

 

DiGiLAB is Design Workshop’s dedicated hub for digital innovation, advancing the use of parametric, generative, and AI-driven tools within our 3D modeling and landscape design workflows. Emphasizing Digital Innovation and Generative Instruments, DiGiLAB empowers the firm to push creative boundaries, enhance efficiency and precision, and promote cross-office collaboration.

 

Key DiGiLAB initiatives include standardizing Rhino 3D templates, building modeling libraries, and managing script resources. Our continued connection with LANDAU Design+Technology enhances our parametric capabilities through the LANDKit suite, streamlining complex modeling workflows for Landscape Architecture. DiGiLAB also leads efforts in AI model training to improve rendering, quality control, and project assessment. By organizing digital assets like script libraries and model resources, we foster firm-wide accessibility and a shared culture of digital innovation.

What You Will Be Doing

 

  • Maintain and update DiGiLAB content and resources (script libraries, Rhino 3D templates, model libraries).
  • Develop custom Grasshopper scripts tailored to specific project needs.
  • Assist in organizing and delivering DiGiLAB internal workshops and Lunch & Learn sessions.
  • Train AI models for customized applications, including plan and perspective rendering, post-engagement assessments, and technical sheet quality management.

Responsibilities

What we’re looking for

Required Skills:

 

  • Proficiency in parametric modeling using Rhino and Grasshopper.
  • Experience with other Modeling Programs so we may explore Interoperability Processes (these could include Revit, Blender, Unity)
  • Experience with at least one of the following visualization software like Lumion, Enscape, or Twinmotion
  • Experience with a variety of AI models - both LLMs and Diffusion Models
  • Strong graphic, CAD SKills, analysis, and general digital production skills.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Expertise with various Grasshopper plugins (Landkit, Ladybug, Pufferfish, etc.)
  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to landscape architecture and design.
  • Advanced AI model training skills across multiple platforms.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies in visualization and sustainability applicable to landscape architecture.
  • Experience working with Blender.
  • A positive attitude, open mind, and ability to work in-studio are essential.

We welcome applications from recent graduates and current students pursuing degrees in landscape architecture, urban design, planning, or computer science fields with a strong interest in landscape architecture and planning. Candidates with experience in computer-related coursework or research related to digital technology and design are highly encouraged to apply. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation

Pay for this position ranges from $22 to $24 per hour, based on experience. This position does not include benefits.
